Ivan Lins is a Latin Grammy-winning Brazilian musician. He has been an active performer and songwriter of Brazilian popular music (MPB) and jazz for over 30 years. His first hit, "Madalena", was recorded by Elis Regina in 1970. Beyond his own performance of his compositions, Simone is a notable and respected interpreter. His 1989 hit song "Love Dance" is one of the most re-recorded songs in musical history.
Testifying to Lins's importance as a composer is the frequency with which tribute albums and new covers of his compositions appear. His jazz classics have been recorded by many notable international artists including Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald,Barbra Streisand, Quincy Jones, Joe Pass, George Benson, the Manhattan Transfer, Diane Schuur, Carmen McRae, Nancy Wilson, Eliane Elias, Patti Austin, Sting, Toots Thielemans, Take 6, Lee Ritenour, David Benoit, Carlos do Carmo, Mark Murphy, Dave Grusin, Sérgio Mendes, Michael Bublé, Jane Monheit and Shirley Horn, among countless others.

He became the first Brazilian artist and Portuguese-language artist to win the Latin Grammy for Album of the Year. LEGACY & ALCHEMY
We had the pleasure and the honor of working with one of the greatest Brazilian jazz singers. While working on "Quiet Nights, Quiet Stars" (Corcovado), we were given permission to use the recording of Miles Davis's trumpet performance. What makes this track special is that we are paying tribute to the legacy of composer Antonio Carlos Jobim with a beautiful recorded trumpet solo from Miles Davis, who originally recorded his trumpet solo on the original english version of "Corcovado".
Inviting an inspirational Brazilian artist like Ivan Lins made this track even more special. We will never forget the first time he stepped into the Visom Studio in Rio de Janeiro. When he started singing in the booth during our recording sessions in June 2015, you can feel the overwhelming positive energy in the room.
We want to share this same experience we had with each and every one of you!
