Teo Lima, short for Teófilo Pereira Lima, is a drummer, producer and Brazilian composer. He began playing trumpet, but found his true vocation in the drums. Due to his successful international career, Lima became the Latin America brand ambassador for the world's largest drumhead company, Remo.
He's worked with several MPB artists in recordings and shows, including Edu Lobo, Gal Costa, Elis Regina, Agepê, Djavan, Gilberto Gil, Leny Andrade, Stevie Wonder, saxophonist Ernie Watts and Dionne Warwick.
In 1993, he founded the group Batacotô and produced its first CD, with the special participation of Gilberto Gil, Dionne Warwick, Ernie Watts, Lenin, Ivan Lins, Jerry Goodman, Bororó and Sivuca. Among the various discs produced stand out Midnight, by Edu Lobo and Aquarela do Brazil, in 1994, the first CD of American singer Dionne Warwick interpreting Brazilian composers, with the participation of Chico Buarque, Dori Caymmi, Batacotô, Eliane Stephen and School battery Samba Imperatriz Leopoldinense.
