William Magalhães is a Brazilian pianist, arranger and music producer. He is the son of the saxophonist Oberdan Magalhães, founder of the Banda Black Rio, one of the first musical groups to undertake the fusion of Essential Brazilian Music with International Black Music. In 2000, William Magalhães resumed the activities of the group after its break up in 1984. He also worked as a musician and arranger for several importanr musicians such as Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Caetano Veloso, Ed Motta, Marina Lima, Daniela Mercury, Kid Bee, Paralamas do Sucesso, among others.
William is a representation of the "Legacy" in Legacy and Alchemy. He was a keyboardist for the tracks: "Brazilica" and "Forca da Imaginação" and was a producer on the remake of the Gilberto Gil classic, "Palco".
